About Me: I am a 5th-year senior studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), and currently serve as the President of ASME @ UIC. I am passionate about fostering innovation, leadership, and collaboration within the engineering community. As President, I have worked to organize events, network with industry professionals, and lead projects that provide our members with valuable hands-on experience. My goal is to connect students with real-world opportunities, mentorship, and resources to help them succeed in their careers.

About Me: I’m a senior Mechanical Engineering student and current standing Vice president of ASME @ UIC. My main goal with our organization is to continue to grow the scope of what we do as an organization and make sure we create a truly welcoming environment for all. From working with Project leads and fellow board members to help facilitate and organize events to volunteering for the growth of the organization, making ASME @ UIC a truly unique organization is my utmost priority.

About Me: Senior mechanical engineering student at UIC. My goal, as the ASME UIC chapter treasurer, is to help grow the society into a prominent and active student organization on campus and foster a network of current and future mechanical engineering students and professionals. My job is to keep track of all organization money transactions and be responsible for the appropriate use of all funds acquired by the society.

About Me: Hello! My name is Bashar Albakri, a senior studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and currently serving as the Academic Department Liaison for ASME @ UIC. In this role, I focus on strengthening connections between students and faculty, facilitating collaboration, and ensuring that our events and initiatives align with academic objectives. I actively coordinate with faculty to promote engagement, organize academic-related events, and support opportunities that enhance student learning and professional development. My goal is to bridge the gap between students and the academic community, fostering an environment where mentorship and innovation thrive.

About Me: My name is Shawn Chacko, and I’m a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering at UIC. As the youngest board member, I proudly serve as the Fundraising Chair for ASME @ UIC. In my role, I work with the team to organize fundraising events and build meaningful connections with local businesses for sponsorships. I’m passionate about helping others succeed, teaching people how to grow, and especially learning from those ahead of me. I love connecting with people and aim to break the stereotype that engineers lack interpersonal skills. My goal is to ensure ASME has the resources to provide valuable, professional experiences that support our members’ growth and success in their careers.

About Me: Hi! My name is Jakob Zajkowski and I am ASME @ UIC’s Webmaster. I am a second year mechanical engineering student after switching from CS to ME. I am responsible for ASME’s communication between the board and the general body as well as the organizations internet presence. My goal is to ensure a constant line of communication between the board and ASME members to ensure the possible outcome for all events that we host.
